Choices, Choices, Choices
Choices - every day they present themselves to us to be made. Our mind buzzes around the choices and options -
-
Is it this way or that way?
-
Is there another way?
-
They made that choice, should I?
-
If I do this then...
I have played in this 'mind arena' of choice many a time, both to my benefit and my detriment. One time, in my early twenties, when I was grappling with a choice for my future, I went to my grandma. I told her the pros and the cons and the ideas and the fears of both options that beckoned me forward, and she listened to me patiently, nodding quietly all the while. At the end of my oration, she sat for a moment and I anxiously awaited her wisdom. With a smile and glint of love in her eye, she said,"I think you should do what you want to my dear."
What I wanted to do? That was not a choice I had considered at length!
Simple. True. No ifs, buts, ands, or weighing all the tiny details.
To follow that sense of what we want is not always easy. We get swayed and pulled by others' choices and perceptions, our judgment can get clouded by minor desires that cover the truth.
In my experience, if you go for what you want, it all comes out right in the end. As we Californian's say, "it's all good." And it is all good! Hamlet would say back to us, "Nothing tis good nor bad, but thinking makes it so." And I reply "In my thinking, I choose to think GOOD."
So. Choose what you want. Choose what is good.
